African Fusion Workshop by Nautica Turner-Briscoe
Saturday, November 14 from 12 - 2:00 p.m.
The Dance Center, Studio 300
FREE with Registration
Experience the true versatility of African dance from traditional movements in West African, South African, and Caribbean dance styles to connecting with contemporary dance vocabulary in Afrobeats, Amapiano, and Dancehall. The workshop consists of a warmup to prepare the body for rhythmic and grounded movement, a series across the floor to introduce key movements and allow students to receive a deeper understanding of how these specific styles show up in the body, and a combination to bridge between technique and artistic expression.
