Anna Borelli
Anna Borelli is a second-year medical student at Rush University Medical College. Anna completed her Bachelor’s Degree at Emory University with her major in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology and minor in Anthropology. She is originally from Chicago, where she grew up figure skating and singing. Anna loves the arts and is very excited to study the intersection between dance and health.
Dimple Gajjar
Dimple Gajjar is a second-year medical student at Rush University Medical College. She has been dancing since she learned how to walk and has always dreamed of being a physician, so combining two of her passions is a dream come true!
Fursan Sahawneh
Fursan Sahawneh is a second-year medical student at Rush University Medical College in Chicago. Prior to medical school, he worked as a nurse in both the medical ICU and inpatient psychiatric settings, which shaped his interest to specialize in psychiatry after medical school. He hopes to work at the intersection of geriatrics, psychiatry, and community health to address the concerns of older adults and support healthy aging through community-based interventions.
Shwetha Sekar
Shwetha Sekar is a second-year medical student at Rush University Medical College and super excited to be a part of this study! From the San Francisco Bay Area, she graduated with a B.S. in Psychology from UC Davis. She has been volunteering at senior centers since high school, and she loves that she can be at various senior centers throughout Chicago and have meaningful conversations with older adults through this study. In her free time, she love hiking, painting, and hanging out with friends and family. Some of the other activities she is involved with currently are volunteering at Haymarket Clinic and research at the RUSH Emergency Department.
Mary Faith Smith
Mary Faith Smith is a second-year medical student at Rush Medical College. She grew up in Wilmette, IL then went to Boston College for her undergraduate degree where she majored in Biology with a minor in Faith, Peace, and Justice. She lived in Boston for two years post-grad and is so happy to be back in Chicago studying medicine where she is reunited with her Chicago Blackhawks, Chicago Cubs, and her favorite food Deep-dish pizza. Her medical interests include obstetrics and gynecology, sports medicine, and gastroenterology.
Brett Wagner
Brett Wagner is a second year Medical Student at Rush Medical College. Brett completed his Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he majored in Piano Performance and Psychology. When not pursuing medicine, Brett enjoys making music with various community orchestras in Chicago as well as working with the choir at St. Pat’s Catholic Church. Brett plans to pursue an Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology fellowship after earning his MD at Rush.
